A new level of refinement
The New Ford Edge incorporates a host of advanced technologies that exist solely to enhance your driving experience. State-of-the-art systems include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go and Lane Centering. These systems work together seamlessly, on your behalf, enabling you to enjoy every journey and concentrate on the more important things in life.
As proof of its ability to protect you and your passengers, the Edge has been awarded a 5-star rating by Euro NCAP.
Your personal driving assistant
Ford Co-Pilot360 is a collection of advanced driver assist technologies that work together to make your driving experience more comfortable and more enjoyable than ever. For example, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go automatically adjusts your cruise control speed based on the vehicle ahead. If traffic slows to a standstill, the engine will automatically stop and restart when the road clears. The system can even recognise speed signs and adjust your cruise control speed accordingly. Lane Centering technology can also provide steering assistance by following road markings to help keep you positioned in the middle of your lane.
Adaptive Steering enables responsive steering at all times and in all conditions. At lower speeds, such as manoeuvring in a car park, less steering input is required. Whilst at higher speeds, steering becomes more agile and precise. And the addition of a Sport Mode reduces the steering effort required on bends, making driving on sweeping and curving roads more rewarding.
Comfort & Convenience
Crafted for comfort
Impeccable craftsmanship and the highest quality materials convey a sense of prestige from the moment you enter the New Edge. FordPass Connect brings a level of connectivity that, until now, you could only experience at home. And B&O is a tailor-made, 1,000-Watt, 12-speaker audio system that delivers a concert-hall like experience. Both FordPass Connect and the premium B&O audio system come as standard on ST-Line and Vignale.
Leave nothing behind
Whether you’re escaping for a well-earned holiday, need some retail therapy, or planning a round of golf, the New Ford Edge has all the space for everything you want. Even your tallest passengers will have room to stretch their legs in the back seats. And the addition of an optional, removable tow bar and roof rails increases the vehicle’s already impressive luggage capacity.
Performance & Efficiency
Engineered to the most exacting standards
The New Edge is a fusion of clever design and scrupulous attention to detail. New engines, including the precision-engineered 4-cylinder, 2.0L Ford EcoBlue diesel engine is paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission, with a Rotary Gear Shift Dial. The result: a powerful and efficient SUV with driving dynamics that give you exceptional confidence and command of the road.
Extra control during hill starts
Hill Start Assist temporarily stops you rolling backwards or forwards when making a hill start. The system works by maintaining pressure to the braking system for an extra 2-3 seconds, giving you more time and control as you move your foot from brake pedal to accelerator. It’s also useful when you’re stopping and starting on slippery surfaces.
Safety & Security
Advanced safety systems
The New Ford Edge employs a series of smart safety systems that combine to help keep you, your family, and other road users as safe as possible. Some technologies, help to protect your family in the event of an accident. Others, such as Pre-Collision Assist, are there to help prevent accidents in the first place.
A system that can help protect pedestrians
Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection uses RADAR and camera technology to scan the road ahead. If a collision risk with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist is detected, it’ll then provide you with a warning. If you don’t respond in time, the system can automatically apply up to full braking force to help reduce the severity of, or even eliminate, some frontal collisions.
